VANNI x OSCALITO collaborate

A new sunglasses collection born from the collaboration between VANNI, the Italian independent eyewear brand, and Oscalito, a fine weaver of high-quality knitwear has been announced this month. The two Turin-based brands share histories deeply rooted in the region’s industrial tradition, a commitment to creating beautiful, well-made products, designed and manufactured with care and love in Italian factories using certified raw materials, respecting people and nature. VANNI and Oscalito have developed a collection of eyewear that combines style and fashion, relying on a short, local, controlled, and ethical supply chain. The collection stems from a raw material common to both brands: cotton. From cotton, Oscalito produces fine yarns used to create essential, elegant and comfortable garments, whilst VANNI makes use of cellulose acetate to make eyewear. Textiles and eyewear thus come together from the same fibre, transformed in two different ways, yet consistent in terms of values and production culture.
The VANNI x Oscalito collection comprises three sunglass styles with names dear to the people of Turin: Dora, Aurora and Valentine. The cellulose acetate is of certified origin; the colours echo those of the yarns in the Oscalito collections, ranging from black, white, blue and moss green, to warm, speckled havana shades, alongside models featuring the famous and instantly recognisable exclusive VANNI-personalised acetates, with a blue damask weave (Dama acetate), green pixelated pattern (Pixel acetate), or fuchsia laminate (Blade acetate). Model Dora is a wide, enveloping shape with a balanced silhouette; Valentine, a defined, contemporary rectangular shape and model Aurora is a sharp, ultra-feminine cat-eye shape. Special packaging has been created for the collaborative edition including eyewear pouches upcycled from precious peacock-coloured Oscalito silk satin.
