According to the organisers, SILMO Istanbul is strengthening its position as the preferred platform for the optical industry in Turkey and the regions of Eastern Europe, Central Asia, the Middle East and North Africa.
More than 850 exhibitors and brands from Turkey and abroad showcased their expertise and innovations this year, they said. Over four days, SILMO Istanbul attracted 12,046 visitors, 80% of them from Turkey and 20% from 87 different countries.
This event is designed to “reflect the vitality of the sector and offers a diverse range of products and services tailored to the needs of a constantly evolving market”.
Beyond the show itself, professionals were able to explore areas designed to inspire them and enrich their experience. THE TREND FORUM showcased the best optical and sunglasses frames offered by the show’s exhibitors, offering a glimpse of the major current and future trends. THE FUTUROLOGY AREA explored the future of the sector through technological innovations, tailor-made solutions and interactive experiences in augmented and virtual reality, revealing exciting new perspectives.
SILMO ACADEMY CONFERENCES are described as an enriching opportunity to learn more about the challenges and developments in the sector, while acquiring new skills. Meanwhile, for the second year running, SILMO Istanbul organised the SILMO Award Istanbul, recognising the Turkish optical industry for its outstanding contribution and ongoing commitment to excellence in the sector. Winners included Tom Ford by Turkuaz Optik in the category « Exposure of an international brand » and the retail store 40 Million Optik in the « Optical Store » category.
In 2025, the event will take place from 19th to 22nd November.
