PONTET’s Turkey collection celebrates the Turkish way of life

French label PONTET Eyewear announces a new collection which follows the Mediterranean theme that influences each collection’s design and colour palette. After visiting Italy, Greece and Egypt, this year they travelled to Turkey. Inspired by the Turkish way of life, the fourth PONTET collection is inspired by particular locations in the country, from the shores of the Bosphorus to the beaches of the Turkish Riviera.

For the design of the new models, translucent shades add depth to the look, while widening the wearer’s field of vision. The palette is inspired by the hues of Turkey: cameos of turquoise blue, alongside gradations of ochre reminiscent of sunsets over the Bosphorus.

Models Ankara Byzance, Egee, Nazar and Sultan are also aptly named to tie in with the inspiration, creating a feeling” imbued with mystery and character” alongside elegant and chic design.

Pontet Eyewear was founded by Hermès Pontet, who grew up surrounded by eyewear in an optical family from Marseille. His grandfather opened one of the city’s first optical stores, Optique Pontet. Starting out as simple children’s toys, the frames became a means of personal expression for the designer, and a way of projecting his identity to the world. Each pair of glasses he designs tells a unique story, linked to a place, an encounter or a journey.
