MOREL par Jean Nouvel opens a new chapter

At SILMO 2026, MOREL par Jean Nouvel unveils the most ambitious evolution of its eyewear collection to date, expanding the distinctive design language developed over more than six years of collaboration.

Since its beginnings, the collection has been built around one essential geometry: the circle. Radical in its simplicity and unmistakably Jean Nouvel, the shape has been explored through different proportions, materials and constructions. For 2026, that vocabulary expands with two major developments: the introduction of a new rectangular silhouette and the collection’s first fully feminine concept. The rectangle marks a significant new direction. Precise, graphic and deliberately assertive, its low, narrow silhouette is defined by a continuous horizontal line that gives the frame an almost architectural quality. Conceived with a younger, style-conscious audience in mind, the design offers a striking counterpoint to the circle while remaining faithful to the collection’s minimalist principles.

The new rectangular concept is available in both acetate and titanium, across optical and sunglass styles. Acetate brings depth and colour to the geometry, while titanium delivers a particularly clean, lightweight expression. Alongside this new shape, MOREL par Jean Nouvel revisits the circle through a new lens. For the first time, the collection introduces a 100% feminine concept, playing with proportion rather than departing from its established design codes. Larger and more expressive, the circular silhouette brings an ultra-feminine character to the collection while preserving its architectural discipline and graphic purity.

With circle and rectangle, acetate and titanium, and masculine, unisex and now feminine expressions, the 2026 collection broadens the possibilities of MOREL par Jean Nouvel without changing its foundations. The result is an expanded design vocabulary guided by the same principles that have defined the collaboration from the outset: essential geometry, architectural precision, radical simplicity and an absence of unnecessary detail.

The new collection will be exhibited at SILMO Paris. Hall 7 Stand.G276.
