MEI: presentation of machinery at Silmo 2023

On the occasion of Silmo, MEI has announced they will present the CoreTBA, their all- in-one Block-free Digital Lens Generator. They describe the machine as “a game changer in the industry and a revolution in the lens generation process”. With its Block-free system, labs can avoid using tapes, blocks, and wax, or Alloy. This means that it is not necessary to have taping, de-taping, blocking, and de-blocking machines in the production line anymore. Moreover, with its Dry Cut technology, the CoreTBA doesn’t need a water filtering system and helps save money and protect the environment.
MEI will also exhibit with the Easy Fit Trend machine, which won the Silmo d’Or in the ‘Material / Equipment’ category in 2021. Developed from MEI’s experience in manufacturing lens edging machines, the EasyFit Trend is a block-less compact solution tailored for optical shops and small labs. This edger represents a further breakthrough for the field with its unique features, including the high precision and reliability of milling technology, eco-friendly Dry Cut technology saving 1 million litres / 264k gallons a year, and the “No Block” system that eliminates blocks and pads, the company states ahead of the optical fair.
