MARCOLIN has acquired IC! BERLIN

The Italian eyewear company Marcolin has acquired ic! berlin GmbH, the independent eyewear company founded in Berlin in 1996.

Awarded several times for the design of its creations – including the Silmo d’or -, ic! berlin internally manages the design, prototyping, production and assembly of its luxury optical and sunglasses frames. Marcolin is assuming total control of the German Company, integrating into its organization approximately 140 employees located mainly in the Berlin headquarters, in the production plant and in the two branches in Japan and the United States.

The acquisition is described as having been born with the aim, for Marcolin, of increasing its expertise in metal processing and expanding the portfolio of luxury brands. The company views this as a sector with great potential. ic! berlin becomes part of Marcolin’s portfolio of house brands, alongside WEB EYEWEAR and strengthening a segment considered strategic for the Company, the press release states.
