Marchon Italia has announced that it has achieved gender equality certification according to the international standard Uni/Pdr 125:2022, confirmed after an evaluation process conducted by Bureau Veritas, a world leader in inspection, compliance verification and certification services.
The company states that the certification marks an important milestone for the group as tangible proof of their ongoing dedication to promoting diversity, equality and inclusion.
The evaluation process was based on six key indicators: from HR processes to gender pay equity, from parenting support programs to company culture and inclusion strategy. The company exceeded the required targets on each indicator, thanks also to initiatives implemented to encourage the integration of the principles of diversity, equity and inclusion.
In a statement, Barbara Salimbeni, CEO, Marchon Italia, said: “Embracing all differences and constantly creating new opportunities together is the basis of our growth strategy and represents a competitive advantage for us. Today in Marchon Italia, 67% of employees are female and more than half of the managers are women. We are very proud to have obtained the certification which is a path we have undertaken for years, and which we want to continue with many initiatives. For example, our strategic plan includes strengthening support for new mothers and fathers with dedicated on-boarding programs to support their return to the company”.
The initiatives highlighted include smart working policies; flexible hours and part-time contracts that take individual needs into account; “benefit” days (“the day for you”, days for care givers, volunteer activities) and psychological support for employees and family members; and welfare programs linked to performance bonuses to optimize the balance between work and private life.
