KYME presents a contemporary vintage vibe in eyewear
A new collection from the Italian-based eyewear brand Kyme presents a fusion of styles that embrace the past while projecting into the future. “Fly to Urban Jungle” is designed to offer a burst of audacity that continues to acknowledge the timeless value of classic design but enriches it with increasingly important contemporary elements.
The collection concept draws inspiration from the origins of the brand which was created “for fun” from an idea by its founder, Antonello Calderoni. While initially Kyme’s collection satisfied the needs and tastes of the founder’s optical store clientele, it later underwent an evolution, drawing inspiration from a much broader segment of “users,” described as “a free and genderless society, an “urban jungle” where everyone has the ability to tastefully blend seemingly disconnected accessories.”
The first 4 models in the “Fly to Urban Jungle”, series offer sharp, sometimes angular “slim bold” shapes, with lenses that are very dark, tone-on-tone black, and sometimes brightly coloured. In addition to these choices, the brand has introduced four sunglass models and 10 optical models as part of its mainline, catering to a broad spectrum of needs, from classic designs to bolder shapes.
In the palette of colours, classic black and Havana shades sit side by side with more eccentric colours such as white, golden yellow, grey, and peach. All the models feature matching lenses, including classic options like grey and aviation green, as well as vibrant choices including orange, burgundy, and teal.
