2024 has been a year in which there has been much talk of the power of eyewear in our daily lives as a means of self-expression and making a statement, and a playful direction for bold shapes and colours has brought a cheerfulness and feeling of warmth and exuberance into the collections that continues into Spring/ Summer 2025. We’ve taken a cue from this mood and dedicated this edition to this powerful feeling of “Joie de Vivre”, positivity and celebration of human connection. As well as presenting new collections that launch this month which show this sense of joy through shape, colour and detail, we interviewed several designers to understand how their creative stimuli translate into new and colourful optical glasses and sunglasses with mood- boosting, confidence-enhancing energy and pizzazz.
This edition is also packed with news, interviews and innovations showing at Silmo Paris where the key topic – the future of optics – will provide much food for thought if the new most high-tech product releases are anything to go by.
