FLEYE COPENHAGEN unveils Carbon Bold capsule collection

Carbon BOLD is described by FLEYE as a capsule collection that redefines what Carbon eyewear can be. With an expressive, stripped-down aesthetic, the collection takes a powerful leap forward in working with the carbon material, they say. The frames are crafted from Carbon Fluid material that consists of fragmented carbon particles rather than layered sheets in traditional carbon. The innovative material provides a dimensional stability that allows for an eyewear design of unprecedented volume and visible depth. The expressive design is further enhanced by prominent facets that reveal the textural surface of the material. “We wanted to create something unapologetically bold, something that radiates presence,” says the FLEYE Copenhagen design team. “Using Carbon Fluid has enabled us to sculpt eyewear in a way we’ve never done before. By using a highly expressive material, we have been able to create frames with striking facets and great depth while still maintaining the characteristic lightness of the carbon material. The facets are not just a stylistic detail—they reflect the light in crisp angles, revealing the complex depth of the material.” The collection consists of six models, unified by a stringent tone-on-tone palette of three dark hues: charcoal black, dark navy, and rich brown. The black model in the collection retains its carbon surface, whereas the navy and dark brown models feature a natural wood finish that adds visual contrast. Titanium temples and adjustable nose bridge are added for flexibility and comfort, while integrated hinges provide stability.
