ETNIA BARCELONA launches Underwater campaign

Etnia Barcelona has released its new Underwater campaign, transporting the viewer to a surreal and hypnotic universe that evokes the mystery of the deep sea. The Barcelona-based brand describes the campaign as « an exercise in creativity, experimentation, and attention to detail. »

Etnia Barcelona seeks to unravel the mysteries of the deep sea through a journey of creative and surreal exploration. «UNDERWATER recreates an underwater universe inhabited by mystical beings, where flora and fauna mesmerize with the beauty and richness of their colours » the company explains. « Ethereal forms that replicate corals and other marine creatures merge and intertwine with mystical beings that inhabit the depths. Their gentle, undulating movements can be felt enveloping bodies and faces, submerged in the silence of the ocean floor. » 


The UNDERWATER campaign was created through artificial intelligence, an artificial intelligence that the company says « moves away from a cold and robotic image to bring the viewer closer to a world where technology merges with nature to create a magical and harmonious environment, respecting every detail. This universe is also reflected in the designs of the new collection. UNDERWATER includes 22 new models, 18 for prescription and 4 for sunglasses, with variations in colour. The collection, inspired by the underwater world, combines a palette of translucent tones, evoking reflections of light in the water, with solid colours inspired by underwater flora and fauna. Furthermore, the glasses feature names related to marine imagery such as Arrecife, Posidonia, Anemona, or Coral. 

The Spring/Summer 2024 collection is available in selected optical stores, at, and in its Flagship Store in Barcelona.
