AO Eyewear has announced that their model Oxford has won the Accessories Council Design Excellence Award in the sunglasses category. Based on an AO design released in 1935, the Oxford draws on vintage motifs to create an almost futuristic look. To maintain its sleek appeal, the acetate is cut to accommodate its statement, ‘oxford’ metal bridge. Brushed metal details and hand-crafted, self-contained nose pads create a look that the company says “transcends time”. For sun lenses, the Oxford features lightweight and impact resistant AOLiteTM nylon lenses. They feature backside A/R coating, smudge-resistant oleophobic coating, and 100% UVA and UVB protection, with optional polarization.
