A new eyewitness series from the eyewear label THEO has been created around the concept of channeling the genius of Leonardo da Vinci, the Italian architect, artist, scientist and sculptor. His famous one-point-perspective has already proven its use in painting, architecture and engineering, but centuries after the Renaissance, it also works for eyewear design, says the Antwerp company! THEO explores Leonardo’s ‘illusion of depth’. “We’ve kept the dimensions of the drawing, but freed our design from its flat surface to create artistically asymmetrical frames!”. The frames retain the company’s signature bold colours alongside the playful and avant-garde shapes that have been born out of this new inspiration for the designs. The new EYEWITNESS collection has been announced in November 2022 for the Autumn/Winter 22/23 season.
