Building on the success of the first collection, the two British brands have returned for round two, launching five new styles in September 2023. In a similar vein to the previous collection, each frame is embellished with The Great Frog’s anarchic iconography in Sterling Silver. The Great Frog Creative Director, Reino Lehtonen-Riley, hand carves the initial emblems and whittles them into wax. From there, they’re shaped into a mould and cast in solid 925 Sterling Silver by a jeweller in Vicenza, Italy. The polished details are embedded into the frames, which are handcrafted in Italy.
The new edition includes three limited edition styles with details that are cast in Sterling Silver and plated in 24K gold. The frames are gilded with The Great Frog’s emblems – Soaring Eagle, Dagger, Love and Death, and Bones Link – in 24K Gold-plating and threaded with 24K Gold-plated cores.
MAINLINE COLLABORATION STYLES In the main collection, the Great Frog’s iconic metalwork embellishes the Soaring Eagle Sunglasses and Opticals, punctuated with irreverent iconography; a Dagger and Soaring Eagle appear at the front and temple, hand cast from Sterling Silver. The frame has a soft, square silhouette that nods to old-school biker frames.
There are no limits when Cutler and Gross think about a frame. Through collaborating with The Great Frog, we bent boundaries and created a new conceptual category that’s far beyond conventional eyewear” Alessandro Marcer Creative Director
Cutler and Gross
The Great Frog’s rock’n’roll jewellery meets Cutler and Gross’s acetate artistry with the Bones Link Sunglasses and Opticals. Hand cast in Sterling Silver, Bones Link and Dagger emblems gild the temples and frontal. The clean-cut shape is reverse-milled and threaded with Lock Down chain core wire.
The Cutler and Gross X The Great Frog collaboration fuses heritage handiwork with gothic undertones, and the Lucky Diamond I Sunglasses and Opticals are exemplary. They’re crafted in Italy to a round, flat-top design that’s spliced by Sterling Silver iconography – Dagger frontal pins and Skull and Crossbones emblems.
The Lucky Diamond II Sunglasses and Opticals are detailed with Dagger and Lucky Diamond emblems, which are cast from Sterling Silver by a jeweller in Vicenza. The frame is structured with custom Lock Down chain core wire and shaped with square lenses.
The wire core is engraved with a chain, a symbol that’s been reclaimed by subcultures as a middle-fingered salute to oppressors…

Intricately hand cast from Sterling Silver, Dagger frontal pins accent the 80s-inspired Love And Death Glasses, while Lock Down chain core wire threads through the temples. The Love And Death Sunglasses are further embellished with a skeletal hand wrapping around the temples. They’re shaped to a gender-bending cat-eye with a flat top and finished with chunky Plectrum tips.
The Mini Cat-Eye Sunglasses and Glasses are handcrafted to an exaggerated 50s-inspired silhouette and spliced by Dagger frontal pins in Sterling Silver. A custom Lock Down chain core wire threads through the temples.
