COLORBOOST™ lenses highlight colour saturation and vibrancy through AI

COLORBOOST™ lenses by Hue LensTM, an American AI technology company, are revolutionizing colour vision through a new level of colour saturation and vibrancy targeting wellness, sports and health. The team of PhD scientists at Hue LensTM specializes in merging colour vision and artificial intelligence to envision an optical lens tailored for every application. The lenses are available for both prescription eyeglasses and sunglasses,

ensuring accessibility and functionality for a broad range of users, including an older demographic of users who enjoy regaining youthful colour vision. They’re available in a wide range of colours, in various materials and lens formats as plano and corrective lenses (single vision and progressive lenses).

COLORBOOST™ lenses provide users with immersive, ultra-vivid colour perception that exceeds the capabilities of the naked human eye. Tests have shown that with this novel technology, colours can be perceived with 3.0 times more colour saturation than those of the competition, creating a visually striking, high-fidelity experience.

The company’s proprietary AI platform analyzes environments, learning the colour dynamics of each scene, building an algorithm that enhances the wearer’s colour vision. Millions of unique lens tints and colour profiles are simulated, virtually testing the lens for the best optical performance. 20/20Europe asked Justin Fong, CEO of Hue LensTM, to describe the differentiating features of COLORBOOST™ and how its AI technology revolutionizes the user experience.

Q: What are these lenses’ unique points of difference?

A: Our claim of “unparalleled colour perception” is literal. The COLORBOOST™ technology fine-tunes the interaction of light and colour as it passes through the lens. Unlike conventional lenses that often distort or mute natural colours, our lenses optimize spectral balance to deliver an experience closest to true-to-life vision. We do this through advanced materials science combined with precision engineering, to enhance colour contrast with minimal distortion. In today’s image-driven world, our TV screens are becoming more vibrant every year. Why can’t we have the same with optical lenses? We see a huge opportunity for a paradigm shift where lenses push the boundaries of human colour vision and unleash a full-spectrum colour palette with unmatched clarity.

Q: Describe how this technology produces an immersive user experience

A: The immersive quality of COLORBOOSTTM stems from its ability to maintain both depth perception and vivid colour fidelity, making the user feel more connected to their environment.

Q: Which demographics do you target?

A: COLORBOOST™ was initially launched in the U.S. five years ago for patients with colour vision deficiency (CVD) and those specialty lenses are still available.

While the lenses are designed to benefit a wide range of users, professional athletes represent our primary market. Their need for precise colour differentiation and sharp depth perception during high-stakes performance makes them a natural fit.

They help golfers read greens accurately and enable baseball players to track fast-moving balls in bright sunlight. We’re working on partnerships with many major sports brands to develop special lenses for their athletes.

In military operations, COLORBOOST™ lenses improve situational awareness which is critical in environments where distinguishing subtle differences—such as camouflage patterns

or terrain variances—can impact mission success. The lenses also reduce glare and improve vision in low-light or high-glare conditions.

Improved clarity and depth perception – COLORBOOST™

Q: What feedback have you received so far?

A: The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. Test users, including athletes and military personnel, report:

• Improved clarity and depth perception, especially in dynamic or challenging environments

• Better comfort and reduced eye strain during prolonged use • Enhanced confidence in activities requiring precision and

quick decision-making
Everyday users have noted the lenses’ ability to make daily tasks more enjoyable, such as driving and outdoor exploration.

Q: How is the marketplace responding to COLORBOOST™ lenses?

A: Several leading eyewear brands have adopted COLORBOOST™ lenses, including brands from Marchon and MPG Group, in addition to optical labs in the U.S. and in Europe. These collaborations ensure our lenses are available in stylish and functional designs that suit diverse user preferences.

Q: Will markets outside of Europe be carrying the lenses?

A: Yes, our planned expansion includes a rollout in North America and the Asia-Pacific region in 2025, with strategic partnerships to ensure a seamless introduction. These regions represent a significant growth opportunity, particularly in the sports and professional-use sectors. COLORBOOST™ lenses are now worn by more than 2 million customers worldwide. COLORBOOST™ will be exhibiting at Mido 2025 for the first time and Hue LensTM will be unveiling several exciting new products.
