Blackfin has announced its sponsorship of the 40th-anniversary celebrations of the David Foster Foundation, held in Victoria, British Columbia. To mark this significant milestone, the Foundation selected Blackfin to create a special limited-edition series of titanium sunglasses, designated as the official gift for guests attending the exclusive anniversary events. This partnership stems from the David Foster Foundation’s profound appreciation for the Italian brand and a deep alignment of core values. Championing this vision is David Foster, one of the world’s most renowned and influential music composers and producers. A 16-time Grammy Award winner with over 500 million albums sold, his extraordinary career boasts collaborations with some of the biggest names in international music, including Michael Bublé, Céline Dion, Andrea Bocelli, Whitney Houston, Barbra Streisand, Madonna, Michael Jackson, Natalie Cole, and Earth, Wind & Fire.
In parallel with his artistic endeavours, Foster established the David Foster Foundation in his hometown of Victoria in 1986. For forty years, the Foundation has pursued a mission as simple as it is vital: to allow families of children in need of life-saving organ transplants to focus entirely on their child’s care, without the added financial burden of everyday living expenses. By covering logistical and non-medical costs, the Foundation has provided concrete, life-changing support to over 1,600 families over the past four decades.
To celebrate its 40th anniversary, Victoria hosted a three-day spectacular featuring an exclusive roster of distinguished guests. Notable attendees included Prince Harry and Meghan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, as well as Bill Gates. Making the events truly unforgettable were performances by international music stars such as Adam Levine of Maroon 5, Chad Kroeger of Nickelback, Josh Groban, and CeeLo Green. The extraordinary lineup was further enriched by the vocal talents of Katharine McPhee, Loren Allred, Sheléa, The Tenors, Pia Toscano, Daniel Emmet, and Sydnie Christmas, joined by special appearances from renowned entertainment figures like Melissa Peterman and Erich Bergen.
