According to Kador, the unique and inimitable detail that is a characteristic of the frames in the My Way collection is encapsulated in an exclusive hinge, custom-designed and patented directly by the label’s in-house designers. The hinge is handcrafted in Italy using prestigious and refined alloys that, when combined, create an elegant and sophisticated colour contrast. Each frame is personalised with the Kador logo and a crown-shaped knurling pattern that gives a special touch to the frame. The clasp also guarantees strength and durability, the company says, ensuring the temples remain stable over time.
The origins of the name of the collection – My Way – refers not only to the eyewear collection in this line by Kador but also, in a broader sense, to a set of workmanship and craftsmanship practices unique to Kador’s savoir-faire: “They have been combined in order to make eyewear of the finest quality, bringing out the personality and essence of whoever wears them”.
The hinge itself is designed to accommodate the insertion of three pins which are manually riveted by the company’s own team of craftspeople through what is described as “a slow and painstaking process”. From studying and measuring every single detail it is then possible to explore and reinvent the designs to make the glasses aesthetically unique as well as functional.
With the creation of the My Way collection, the aim has been to push the limits of creative innovation in eyewear design, integrating know-how and constantly perfecting it thanks to new technologies and new forms of design.
