ANNE & VALENTIN highlights Krafties

Anne & Valentin has released their new collection, Krafties, where “material play translates chance into form”. Resonating with the work of the Japanese artist Minami Ikeya, the acetate material used for these frames is characterised by an effect that looks like frosted, handcrafted glass, shaped by time, with irregular edges. Naturalness is key, as if the acetate had been carved and polished by hand while a hollowed hinge detail adds restrained gloss. The colours in the Krafties range draw from glass pigments: crystalline fronts, opaline hinges, and opaque temples ending in crystal commas in an expression that remains soft, sensitive and artistic. The models include Venza, a medium elongated rectangle with even thicknesses and a balanced geometry and the small oval shape, Vassia with its cool and youthful design. Model Veliska is a statement octagonal design, with a graphic presence, and a structural elegance that makes it “feel as if it is carved from stone”.
