AKONI launches Altitude Series

AKONI introduces the Altitude Series, an exclusive Olympic capsule collection conceived to celebrate sport, performance, and the distinctive elegance of mountain life. Designed for seamless transitions from the slopes to après-ski moments, the collection embodies AKONI’s philosophy of precision, innovation, and refined design. The capsule was created in collaboration with EYETECH, an innovative lenses hub renowned for its cutting-edge optical technology. Together, AKONI and EYETECH developed ultra-high-performance, prescription-grade lenses, made in Switzerland and hand-mounted to ensure optimal fit, durability, and visual precision. All three styles in the Altitude Series feature polarized lenses, while two are enhanced with a mirror finish, offering superior visual performance in alpine conditions and a contemporary aesthetic. The collection reinterprets three of AKONI’s iconic frames—models Hercules, Phoenix, and Spitzer—adapting them to a winter and mountain-driven context. Perfect for après-ski, these styles combine technical functionality with effortless sophistication. Inspired by the purity of ice and the reflective power of mirrors, the series plays on contrasts between crystal-clear acetate and strong, expressive lenses. The colour palette includes AKONI’s iconic deep emerald green alongside mirror polar blue and mirror polar brown lenses, evoking snow-covered landscapes, sharp light, and the dynamic energy of the mountains.

The experience extends beyond the product through a dedicated packaging concept inspired by the same ice-and-mirror theme. Each piece is presented with an external sleeve featuring the exclusive capsule print and a story card that narrates the inspiration behind the collection and its connection to the Olympic spirit. AKONI also introduces a dedicated online page for the series, offering a made-to-order experience developed in collaboration with EYETECH. Customers can personalize their eyewear by selecting the lens colour for each of the three styles, reinforcing the brand’s commitment to individuality and craftsmanship. The launch is supported by key activations with AKONI’s main partners, Franz Kraler in Cortina and Oconventional in Milan, as part of the journey toward the Milan–Cortina Olympics. A special two-day experience will take place in Cortina on February 14th and 15th, during the Olympic period, bringing together selected talents for a curated programme of activities celebrating gastronomy, performance, and mountain culture. The highlight moments will be linked to an après-ski event at Chalet Franz Kralerand an exclusive event at the Franz Kraler boutique in Corso Italia.
