Silhouette’s new Iconic Shades collection channels the energy of the 1970s and fuses it with the clarity, comfort, and precision of modern design. At the core of this collection is a name that shaped Silhouette’s design identity: Dora Demmel. In the 1970s, her approach to proportion and volume set the tone for a new design language : expressive, architectural, and instantly recognizable. Today, her influence resonates stronger than ever – at Silhouette. In tribute, the collection introduces four reimagined artifacts — Dora One to Dora Four — each a modern reinterpretation of her signature aesthetic. “We aimed to translate Silhouette’s design DNA into a collection that feels decisive and contemporary,” says Roland Keplinger, Design Director. The result is a collection that carries presence without heaviness. Each design translates Dora’s bold vocabulary into contemporary clarity. Dora One introduces a strong, architectural square defined by its distinctive low temple line. Dora Two evolves the classic wayfarer into a tapered, more dynamic silhouette. Dora Three brings a fluid round shape that balances soft curvature with sculptural depth.
Completing the series, Dora Four — a reimagining of the original Sunset model —contrasts an elevated, flowing upper line with a sharply contoured lower edge, capturing the refined tension that defines this new era of Silhouette design. A carefully curated palette reinforces the collection’s sculptural character. Velvety tones — cream powder, cream blush, dark olive, mocha mousse — evoke quiet luxury. Silhouette’s signature hues — apricot and bright ivory — return with fresh clarity. A luminous yellow-brown gradient lens adds vibrancy and dimension, enriching the visual architecture of each frame. Crafted from Silhouette’s cutting-edge SilhoPure® 3D-printed material and paired with high-tech titanium detailing, the collection delivers strength, flexibility, and the brand’s signature lightness, the company adds.
