X-tra Clean Finish

Launched at opti in January, Rodenstock has developed a new lens finish for the topmost layer of the front and back of a premium lens. The extremely smooth surface of the new Rodenstock X-tra Clean Finish means that dirt can hardly stick on the lens. However, if it does, the dirt can be removed without streaks and residue. Lenses with the X-tra Clean Finish are so smooth that dirt has no chance, according to the company.

THE MOLECULES MAKE THE DIFFERENCE

A finish consists of functional molecular chains, and an area responsible for the water- and oil-repellent properties. These molecular chains are not flexible with conventional finishes. X-tra Clean Finish from Rodenstock consists of extraordinarily flexible molecular chains, which make the lenses so smooth. On behalf of Rodenstock an independent institute conducted personal interviews with 100 spectacles wearers in Germany. The result is that 100% of those surveyed confirmed that lenses with X-tra Clean Finish could be cleaned absolutely clean and without streaks. In addition, 93% of the testers were able to remove fingerprints on the lenses without any streaks with the new finish from Rodenstock. 93% of the spectacles wearers were able to notice easier cleaning due to the smoothness of the lenses.

PRACTICAL TEST CONFIRMS THE PRODUCT BENEFITS

On behalf of Rodenstock, an independent institute conducted personal interviews with 100 spectacles wearers in Germany.
