French designer Nathalie Blanc has been recognised at Vision Expo East (VEE) in NYC during the award ceremony for the best creations of the year. The Clara, which is the most emblematic model in the COLORSTALGIA collection at Nathalie Blanc Paris, won the “Best Sunglasses Award” ($250 to $500 retail category) - one of 8 awards at the 2023 edition and the first French label to be recognised in this way at VEE. Worked in 10mm acetate plate, the model represents a real sculptural challenge combining thickness and a technique of “déforçage” (in English, a ‘deforming’ technique to give curves and depth to the frame). Inspired by the 60s and exceptional work, Nathalie Blanc likes to describe this creation as the symbol of this era when "everything was possible": both in terms of colours and materials. For the designer, this international award represents "real recognition of the work of her entire team and the House in promoting French know-how beyond France and Europe and marks the acceleration of the brand and its international success. In the past, Nathalie Blanc has won two awards at SILMO in 2018 and 2020; now, the brand celebrates success in the USA, 6 months after signing the partnership with the distributor Ultimate Vision, the luxury division of L’Amy America. Nathalie Blanc said: "Together we are marking a new page in the history of the House, thanks to the support of our loyal customers, partner opticians, distributors and the entire team, we are at a strategic moment for the brand and the next few months look set to be rich in news and novelties".
