MOREL reports that since 2014 the company has been collaborating and investing in a specific recycled acetate process in order to adopt a virtuous local approach within a circular economy.
In order to recycle the remnants from the manufacturing of acetate frames, MOREL works with a local partner called DECORACET, a French acetate manufacturer with recycling know-how. DECORACET supplies MOREL with new acetate sheets made by thermo-compression using granules from the acetate scraps. The resulting VALERIEN designs, made from 100% recycled acetate, are patterned and full of bright colours and playful transparencies. This concept reimagines MOREL’s iconic Tydée design to enhance the acetate temples.
