The Hawaii-based sunglasses brand Maui Jim has signed an agreement with Fernando Verdasco. The tennis player from Madrid joins David Ferrer, Garbine Muguruza and David Goffin as an ambassador for the brand, further confirmation of the brand’s commitment to and involvement with the world of tennis.

Besides the ambassadors mentioned, the brand has also been the official sponsor of the ATP Tour since 2015.
Fernando Verdasco is one of Spain’s best-known tennis players. Professional since 2001, his style and class have made him referential. Born in Madrid, Fernando has been in the Top 50 for 14 consecutive seasons (2004-2017), finishing in the Top 10 in 2009 and 2010.

Amongst his successes are 7 singles titles and 8 doubles titles. Amongst his best Grand Slam performances are one Wimbledon final (2013), two US Open finals (2009 and 2010), and one Australian Open semi-final(2009). He rounds these victories off with three Davis Cups (2008, 2009 and 2011), one Hopman Cup (2013) and one doubles Masters Cup (2013). He is currently No. 36 in the ATP rankings.

“I love the brand and its association with tennis. Its lens technology is incredible and puts it among the world leaders. There is a great choice of models both for everyday wear and for sport. I am really happy to be part of this brand and team”.
