The first ideas for the new KunoQvist Spring collection came to fruition over two years ago. The designers are inspired by the sea through colour, pattern and the choice of materials. Corals and their perforated shapes became the focus for the patterns created in the new eyewear.
The KunoQvist Spring collection from OPO Sweden is characterized by an uncomplicated youthfulness, bright colours and variations in surfaces. Examples of the designs include model Tyvan, a classical round shape where the metal is painted in a coat of epoxy to give a fluid, ceramic effect. Or model Donau, a typical women’s frame, where the metal is engraved with patterns that wind across the frame like blooming corals.
Algae from the sea - built up by cells and molecules – have also been studied by the designers for inspiration.
Their weightlessness and small details are identifiable in models Vivela and Tulipa.
