Created by cinema students mentored by a host of leading masters, the short film Elogio makes clear the exciting possibilities that might be achieved when young visionaries are given artistic freedom. Akoni has announced the first film premiere resulting from a collaboration formed between the Lugano-based luxury eyewear company and OffiCine, the higher-education cinema laboratory developed by the Istituto Europeo di Design (IED) and Anteo Spazio Cinema. As a company, Akoni has stated that it is proud to play a role as “a true patron of the arts”, helping to ensure that a new generation of promising film talents has the freedom and financial means necessary to develop their work. A new Akoni-OffiCine scholarship program allows a select group of young ‘cinephiles’ the possibility of forming part of a series of innovative film workshops, under the direction of some of Italy’s most respected masters of cinema.
