Up your wardrobe game with a famous frame style

KOMONO - Pop Success

British singer and actress Rita Ora wore the Ava sunglass by KOMONO during her performance at the Capital’s Jingle Bell Ball (2018). This narrow sunglasses style is part of the brand’s Elementary Sun Collection for Spring/Summer 2019 and follows the trend for elongated half-moon designs – with a design that is similar to classic reading glasses. Created in stainless steel, the model features UV 400 Protection with Cat. 3 Polarised lenses and a solid smoke lens tint. The Antwerp based label – launched in 2009 by Raf Maes and Anton Janssens, specialises in the production of eyewear and watches, with a sleek, pared down design.

KIRK & KIRK - Tv Fame

When Prue Leith appeared on The British Bake Off in summer 2018, she wore statement specs (model Victor) from the Kaleidoscope Collection by Kirk & Kirk. “We have a good number of visible wearers, says Jason Kirk, asked about the effect, “it is always because they choose to wear our brand. BBC TV presenter Naga Munchetty regularly wears our glasses and musician Kirk Whalum has just bought a pair. Prue Leith likes our products and when she approached us to view the whole collection she showed great interest in the background and company itself.” The Kaleidopscope Collection is made in France and produced in acrylic, a transparent material available in a dazzling colour choice.

The Manhattan by Oliver Goldsmith Sunglasses has become one of the brand’s most iconic sunglasses.  This acclaim is due not only to its incredible shaping and wearability, but through the incredible heritage and list of superstars who wear it.  Made famous by the immeasurable popularity and beauty of Audrey Hepburn in Truman Capote’s classic ‘Breakfast at Tiffany’s’, the Manhattan has gone on to be worn by the likes of supermodel Kate Moss, Fashion Editor Anna Dello Russo, and actresses such as Kate Beckinsale and Anne Hathaway, who fell in love with the frame whilst filming Oceans Eight.

L.G.R - Film Focus

L.G.R’s models Tangeri (pictured) and Comoros have both appeared on screen on Tom Cruise in various scenes of Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation, the fifth film in the Mission Impossible series. The specific L.G.R Tangeri model used in the scene, in which Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) meets Ilsa Faust (Rebecca Ferguson), features the black double bridge frame with yellow gradient photochromic lenses. More recently L.G.R has been lucky to see Prince William wearing their sunglasses in public, as well as Cristiano Ronaldo, Kate Hudson and Emma Roberts.

TOD'S EYEWEAR  - Actress of Note

Tod’s Eyewear model TO0214 is a cat eye shape that has been seen on actress Cate Blanchett. The model has appealing flat lenses which contrast with the curvature of the frame front. The metal double T integrated on the temples is typical of the brand, produced with an elegant metal finish. Tod’s Eyewear is a popular choice with celebrities and has been worn by stars such as Sarah Jessica Parker and Adrien Brody. Tod’s was born in the early 1900s. Today the brand combines tradition, high quality and modernity with an exclusive functional design, with the result of a timeless refined elegance. Produced by Marcolin.

ILLESTEVA - Dress like Royalty

Sunglass model Palm Beach by New York label Illesteva was worn by Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex when she travelled to Australia to assist at the launch of the Invictus Games in 2018. She has been seen wearing this brand previously at Wimbledon and is said to be a “fan”. A celebrity favourite, Illesteva is known for its classic look and traditional crafting in acetate in a palette of tortoise and neutral tones, but has more recently added inventive ultra light stainless steel designs and acetate/metal combos into the mix. The brand was launched in 2009 by Daniel Silberman and Jus Ske.

TOM DAVIES - Bespoke 'VIP' Service

Tom Davies, the UK eyewear designer, has designed frames for many celebrities. For Ed Sheeran, he created a bespoke design in buffalo horn (above), one of his most appreciated eyewear materials and one which he continues to explore in his luxury collections for men and women. Today, the designer is putting more and more emphasis on environmentally friendly eyewear production, reducing waste and minimising the company’s environmental impact. “When our customers order a bespoke horn frame,” says the designer, “they receive a ring or cufflinks made from the same piece of horn which is not only a nice surprise, but also a way to cut down on waste.”

TBD EYEWEAR - Crystal Chic

The Bespoke Dudes Eyewear is a collection of sunglasses made exclusively in Cadore, Italy, worn and endorsed by a raft of bloggers and well known ‘instagrammers’ across social media. They include Will from @thedonsclub, a men’s style blogger with over 22K followers, who wears model Cran, a classic panto in crystal, with a gradient grey lens. The TBD collection is particularly popular with a male audience, but their styles are equally suited to women, with many unsiex designs and colorations that offer style, comfort and quality UV protection.
