A timeless shape for men

Model Ferguson from Paul Smith is described as an absolute classic and the "perfect" rectangle frame. The timeless shape has been slightly modified to create a more open bridge allowing for a comfortable and relaxed fit. Part of the fifth collection of eyewear and sunglasses with luxury eyewear license partner Cutler and Gross, the SS22 Paul Smith collection is inspired by silhouettes from the 1960s through to the 1990s designed to inspire a feeling of space, light and reconnecting with the natural world. Technically refined and full of classic colour ideas, the line comprises eight optical and eight sunglass styles handmade in the Italian Dolomites using premium quality materials.

Bespoke laminations

Crystal tones take on a new fresh style in the acetate collection from Ørgreen Optics where bespoke laminations create exceptional examples of colour play. Model Claudius is a man's style which the Danish designers call their boldest acetate frame yet. The colour choices include milky teal with burned yellow and a smart olive/havana. This collection recently saw the addition of eight new styles for men and women, some citing modern interpretations of classical shapes and others sporting a more radical experimentation with form.

Crystal shine

Model Sheryl by VERA WANG is representative of the chic and classy style of the internationally famous designer. The season the collection is focused on custom created acetate laminations and angular cuts on both acetate and metal. Where new planes are carved into the material, crystals are placed, giving the styles dimension and shine. Shapes are inspired by the past but are crafted with care to make sure they don’t look costume, they are refined for a modern wearer with chic sensibilities. The Sheryl design is an oversized acetate square style featuring a row of crystal detailing on temples. Colours include black, dove and elegant desert.

Futura Dot

The latest interpretation of the iconic '70s Futura style at Silhouette is launched in 2022. Futura Dot is a limited edition based on the statement Futura design first created in 1973. The frames’ aesthetic replicates the style it set in motion, combining an unmistakable retro ‘70s look with, as the name suggests, a futuristic style. Four bold colourways, a monochrome Black and White, trend-driven Olive Grove, Nostalgic Brown and deep Atlantic Blue, have all been applied to the striking style to make a statement. The original designs’ oversized shape remains, whilst a dramatic dot has been added above the nose bridge to bring them bang up-to-date. Just 1,964 pairs of the Futura Dot frames are available worldwide with each pair of sunglasses bearing its own serial number on the inside of the shield.

For bike enthusiasts

Model Wyatt by Brett is inspired by the iconic character in Easy Rider. The frame is a modern interpretation of the classic aviator and is part of the biker-inspired Neo Combined collection by the brand. A state-of-the-art material combo of quality acetate and 304 stainless steel forms the basis of the range and informs its refined and streamlined design. 304 stainless steel is an alloy that offers a good mix of lightness and flexibility, according to Brett. In addition to ultra-thin and flexible temples, the frame is also fitted with Divel polarized lenses.
