The search for harmony in shapes, keen research into colour, and utmost attention to creation have been the driving forces when designing the collection. Avinyo 3 is part of the AW21 collection at Etnia Barcelona - Mambo Vol2 – described by the brand as “vibrant, rebellious and bold” and a tribute to all that the brand stands for in form and colour, in their purest state. This extensive collection includes 39 optical frames and eight sunglasses with a predominance of oversized shapes and delicate laminations, to suit all tastes. For the colour palette, translucent colours blend with ivory, Havana, brown, blue and green to create an effect which is delicate yet crafted with high-tech processes. The collection was released with a campaign which features iconic locations in the city of Barcelona.

For a festive launch, LINDA FARROW has announced a new collaboration with the contemporary artist Sara Shakeel. The concept was to create a capsule collection for the Holiday Season. World renowned for using glitter and Swarovski crystals to create collages on photography and three-dimensional objects, Sara Shakeel has decorated Linda Farrow’s Debbie frame with three new intricately decorated designs including the black and Swarovski adorned version pictured. The frame has a 90s feel and a sculpted look with glossy finish.

Upcycled acetate chic

Released at SILMO Paris in September 2021, model Inouie by the French design house LAFONT is a new creation, produced from the existing stock of acetate owned by the company in its archives. Creative Director Thomas Lafont has worked with the acetate in layers to achieve design with impact and individuality, and a colour palette that, through the combinations of colours and patterns, feels modern and fresh for the season. The frame shape is based on a square design with thick rims and a flat top. The idea for upcycling material is new at Lafont. The company has also introduced eco-friendly eyewear for children for AW 21-22.

The frame has a bevelled “sculpted” look to create drama, and an oversized structure to fully shade the eyes and create an air of mystery. Essedue Sunglasses are produced in Italy at the factory of Essesquadro Srl. The frames combine style and comfort and the colour palette is the result of consistent research to guarantee a unique style and artisan finish.

Capsule collaboration

Made in Germany, Vava’s collaboration collection with the Portuguese Olympic athlete Patricia Mamona presents statement design, produced in sustainable, organic materials with the latest 3D printing technology. Model CL0016 is offered with windshields and add-ons in different colours – and produced from a polyamide bio-based powder made from castor oil. The 3D printing method allows for the design of complex frames, with bold stylistic features while using the minimum amount of material for zero waste. The design is available in a palette of colours which includes black, white, green, red and yellow.

Versace has presented a new collection tied to 1990s music and pop culture, revisiting the iconic codes of the fashion house and the brand’s legendary taste for unique designs. Model VE 2234 offers sophisticated see-through tones and sleek metal shades which lighten up the diva-inspired silhouette. Polished metal details reveal fashion icon origins and the feminine cat-eye shape features a smooth lens-in-frame mount and back-set metal rims with metal nose pads. This frame is a rework of the ultra-wide Biggie temple with an iconic metal Medusa. Colours include transparent pink with pink lenses and transparent grey mirror silver with light grey mirror silver lenses.
