The name MITA represents the spirit of the brand: MI as Miami’s first initials, home of VOT, and ITA as Italy. MITA Eyewear, is pioneering the use of sustainable materials in eyewear. We believe in the principle that high fashion should not come at the expense of our environment. Through our ‘Reshape’ philosophy, we are passionately devoted to redefining the relationship between fashion and sustainability. Emerging from the ever changing Magic City, MITA brings to life the concept of Miami’s fashion sense and multicultural backgrounds into sustainable eyewear, built with the highest quality materials supported by the artistry in Italian design and craftmanship. A million water bottles are bought around the world every minute, damaging our ecosystem. That is why we created MITA Eyewear, which is a fully sustainable brand. We want to create an ecofriendly movement that avoids polluting our environment.
Quality, our signature:
We believe in upcycling, and the process of reusing materials to create a product of higher quality or value. We do this by transforming water bottles and recycled aluminum into wearable, high-quality, lightweight, and eco-friendly eyewear, combining the expertise of Italian craftmanship and the know-how of the best factories around the world.
Our materials go beyond water bottles:
RPET: Material made of FDA approved recycled water bottles / polyethylene terephthalate. Every pair of eyewear is made of 5 Recycled Water Bottles.
Recycled Aluminum is the most environmentally friendly metal on earth. It can be recycled without degradation. At the end of the lifespan most of the aluminum is recycled. Other characteristics of this material: Corrosion – resistant, Light Weight, Hypo-allergenic

Eco-Friendly packaging and Biodegradable poly bags
According to recent studies by 2050 there will be more plastic in the ocean than fish. Our mission at MITA Eyewear is to make a positive impact on the environment. In every aspect of our work, we do our best to incorporate responsible use of materials in our processes and raise awareness of the benefits of recycling for our clients. In the U.S., the recycling rate for plastic is only 23 percent, which means that 38 billion water bottles end up in landfills, oceans, and waterways each year. It takes plastic 1000+ years to degrade. Meaning most of the plastic you have used in your life still exists somewhere. While recycling is a good alternative to the landfill, a very small percentage of plastic waste gets recycled!
Let us help the environment one frame at a time. #joinourmovement #mitaeyewear
