Korea Optical Industry Agency (KOIA) reported that the first and second round of business registration for the 17th Daegu International Optical Show (DIOPS) to be held on 18~20 April 2018, has closed successfully registering 90% bookings to cover 20,077m2 for 220 companies.
DIOPS 2018 is holding its 17th event this year. It seeks to take various steps to better show the ever-changing and expanding Korean optical industry.
The schedule has been changed from Thursday, Friday, and Saturday to Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday to focus on business. Also, the buyer matching service has been expanded with plans to increase satisfactory results through smart matching that meets the demands from foreign buyers using the ‘Korean Optical Selling List’ created last year.
DIOPS will be focusing on both export and the domestic markets. Training sessions are being planned for local branches of the Korean Optometric Association, and support will be provided for group visits from the greater Seoul metropolitan area as well as the Daejeon, Chungcheong, and Honam regions in order to increase participation of opticians.
Product launch fashion shows, last year’s most popular side event, will also be expanded this year. Models and the fashion catwalk provided participating companies with additional exposure and marketing opportunities. This has paved the way for an increased number of brands and firms confirming their participation on the stage this year.
