The organisers of DaTE, the Florence eyewear fair, have announced that the event will take place on 21/22 and 23 September 2019 at Stazione Leopolda.
The exhibition areas have been redefined for this year’s event with new spaces Yin, Yang, Tao and Zen. The themes represent a return to “the origins”, with Eastern inspiration, in line with the original name of the fair. DA-TE is a Japanese movement which when translated means “eyewear fashion, without prescription”. Young people in Asia wear spectacles because of their style, not solely for vision correction. This year, the fair will revisit this unique philosophy proposing a new direction between creativity and intuition (Zen), the essential path and force of Tao, the energy and equilibrium of Yin and Yang.
DaTE references different worlds, personalities, identities and ways of understanding a design object, with the aim of being an inspirational forum for a different vision of eyewear, according to the organisers.
Exhibitors from the USA, Japan, Austria, Denmark, Belgium, Spain and Portugal, among others, will attend the event alongside a large number of Italian companies.
